The Bund In Three Parts

We stopped over in Shanghai just after Typhoon Beibijia swept through, leaving the skies scrubbed clean and the air rinsed of its usual haze. But the heat and humidity lingered. With only a few days in the city, our exploration traced the waterfront along the Huang Pu River that cuts through Shanghai.

The Bund has undergone a tremendous amount of development in the last decade, with a new cultural district known as South Bund opening up and serving as a public promenade. It is well used with joggers, cyclists, and people out for a stroll with their dogs. Pet ownership is huge in Shanghai…
